One of the most common diseases affecting the gallbladder is gallstones.
Acute cholecystitis - sudden inflammation of the gallbladder caused by gallstones.
Cholelithiasis - caused by gallstones as well
Acalculous cholecystitis - inflammation of gallbladder, not associated with gallstones.
The commonest are gallstones ( cholelithiasis) and infection (cholecystitis).
