It depends largely on the feeling you want to express.

Worn down/tired - He felt like a newspaper trampled into the ground during rush hour.

Nervous - She was as nervous as a criminal about to about to receive her sentence.

Be careful, however, not to use cliches like:

He was as happy as a kid in a candy store.

there is tons and tons of them there is no rule technaly it can be anything but it has to have something incomn if it does not then its not a good one are not even a simile at all for love, so get a brain,bye by the way im a girl.
