Creative Ideas from other contributors:

  • A bag of jelly beans: When you go to the dry cleaners and they put that bag over your clothes, take it off, cut slits in the desired places, and then you can take balloons and fill them up and tape them to your body. If you want you could also get a giant piece of cardboard and write down all the different flavors.
  • An iPod silhouette: Dress in all black (that means painting your face too) and (if you don't have an iPod than you can't do this) carry around your iPod.
  • A melted snowman: Drench yourself in water, then carry around a scarf, broom, etc.
  • Gum stuck on a shoe: Dress up in all pink, then tape a shoe to your head.
  • Leaf Blower: Wear a hat that has a leaf tied, taped or glued right in front of your face. Then when people ask you what you are, blow on the leaf.
  • A Spartan Cheerleader
  • A 1980s aerobics instructor
  • A YouTube video - get a big piece of cardboard that covers at least down to your hips, cut out a big square/rectangle where the video would be on YouTube.com Your face should show in this square/rectangle when you get behind the cardboard. Draw YOUTUBE! Make a place for comments and people can actually leave comments on your costume. Cut out holes for your arms or anywhere else needed.
  • Amelia Earhart - one could get props (not the wood or metal variety) from any Army-Navy store, adapt swim goggles for flight use - shower helmets, and so on.
  • Older people can dress up as a gypsy: it is an easy outfit to put together if you have long skirts, loose hippie type blouses, scarves and big earrings around the house.
  • Mr. Peanut: get a top hat and the eye piece, black pants or leggings, cut and paint cardboard in the shape of a peanut and attach appropriately
  • Cindy Lou - look up how to put your hair like her. Try using a styrofoam cup with a pony tail on top and then braids that curl up.
  • Dog Food: take an large empty bag of dog food, wash it until dog food smell is removed, and cut holes for arms, head, and legs.
  • Dark M&M: gothic clothing, fangs, dark eye make-up, and create a shirt online or iron-ons with an M on it
  • Smarty Pants: get an old pair of jeans/ other pants and glue the Smarties candy on to them. add glasses and a dorky outfit (if you wish) to complete the look.
  • Hershey's Kiss: dress in all silver and put kiss marks all over face. Wear a banner that says Hershey's kiss to make clearer
  • Static Kling: Leotard with socks stuck to it
  • Snorkeler: Wetsuit with snorkel apparatus
  • Hobo: wear old, patched clothes

Try doing what I did. you can go to a thrift store and put together your own costume...you can call it what ever you want. It will be very original and people may even ask where you got it. Then you can tell them you made it. If you really don't have any money you can use your old clothes or hand-me-downs and cut and sew them to make something reel cool. Stick a pillow in your stomach and call yourself Tweedledum from Alice in Wonderland.

You could dress up as an ancient Aztec warrior. Buy yourself a faux fur leopard hooded coat with ears also. Make sure it isn't too long or else you'll be dragging it on the ground.

You can either be traditional by using ideas from scary movies or using costume ideas from your own interest. In all honesty though, you should just dress up however you want.
