bring toys and games to entertain the kids and never do anything un safe, children like to copy you. always follow the parents rules no matter how much the child begs. they could be allergic or not allowed to do something
Here are some good babysitting tips:
-Even though you're the babysitter, you don't have to be the housekeeper, but probably before the parents come home(maybe within the last thirty minutes) just have a quick tidy up and try to put it exactly how it looked when the parents left.
-When the parents get home give them a report, just something like "Ben did have most of his dinner, but not all of it and then we watched the movie, then I put him to bed, he was in bed by 8:30." Just something simple like that.
-Don't complain, if you didn't enjoy it still say something along the lines of "It was great being in your home and looking after you fabulous son" not like "You didn't even have any coke in the fridge for me and what's up with you not having a computer?".
-Be honest, if something broke and even if it wasn't your fault you need to tell the parents and say sorry, they will probably like you better for being honest than not saying anything because it wasn't your fault.
-Before watching a movie or tv with the child your babysitting find out if they can watch it, which means asking the parents when you arrive there or before the babysitting day.
-Before giving the child your babysitting any sweets, chocolates and so on find out if they can have it, they may be allergic or have Diabetes and son on.
-If you enjoyed your stay and want to come again at the end say something like "I was very happy to look after Ben, if you are happy with the job I have done I would be happy to do it again you can just give me a call.
Depends on the age of the child really. I always find sleeping is quite good! Lol just kidding. Board Games are fun but don't let them get too worked up otherwise they don't sleep, let them read a book or watch a relaxing film, nothing like a cartoon or something un-suitable. hope this helps : )
Babysitting requires patience, active listening, problem solving skills and an enjoyment of children. It is important to remember that children do not have the same level of intelligence - although they are always growing and learning!
Either take them to the park, or maybe play hide and seek or tig, if there a boy play football or if he's older play some video games, if your looking after a girl play dress up, or older girl listen to music with her, take her shopping or something girlie
* Do what the kids want to do * let them bend the rules but not break them * ask like your alwaays having fun * understand what they want and comprimise
just being fun and energetic and get t0 know the kids you are looking after and keep them entertained with fun activities
dont :)
