I know one band that's called 'Apocalyptica' that only consists (or consisted) of cello's. (It still exists but I don't know for sure if there are only cello's in it anymore).
An orchestra has violins, violas, and cellos, and a symphonic band doesn't.
There are the percussion's: clarinet, flute. The Jazz: Trombone, trumpet and possibly the saxophone. There is always a drum and sometimes a piano. Some rock bands have a guitar and singer and a bass. Violins and Violas are for classical music bands.
The full complement of instruments in the orchestra performed on his most famous recording: trumpets, trombones, drums, and reeds. The saxophone exchange was performed by Tex Beneke and Al Klink.
I would say no because an orchestra consists if string instruments (preferably violins, cellos, etc.) I myself am a sax player and saxophones play in bands, not orchrestras. - Sax Master In a symphony orchestra, saxophones play in the woodwind section. Orchestras have string sections, woodwinds, brass and percussion.
Typically, none, although some educational bands find it easier to recruit violinists than oboists. This is rare.

a mariachi is a band of Mexican people with instruments like a trumpet, tuba, guitar, and more instruments
Many rock bands have used violins for their music. They can be used to add dramatic flair to a song, or to make a song unique in various other ways. Most rock bands don't feature a violin player as a regular member of the band, though.
There are three types of bass: bass drums, electric base (a type of electric guitar), and the regular that looks like a cello. They can all be used in every type of music. Any instrument can be used in any type of music. On my guitar I play techno, hip hop, rock, heavy metal, Christmas, classical and any other type of music. there are heavy metal bands that use violas and violins. I have heard xylophones in the background of many old Eminem songs.
Some people would be devastated. Then the world would lose a most beautiful musical instrument. Music would be all the poorer for it. Violins are not just used for classical music, but they are also used effectively in modern bands. They lend a resonance that cannot be reproduced by any other instrument.
Violins can be played in any orcherstra. it just depends.
---- Go on ahead. People make these concert things seem way more dangerous, than they really are. Im only 14, and I went to a two day concert, that had 11 bands, and almost all of them were hard rock/metal bands. Some were even screamo bands, so its okay. Just be careful and stay out of the mosh pit. Yeah you will get knocked around ALOT, but its not like your going to be killed. ----
Well, it depends upon what crowd you associate with, I guess. In my family, the violin is very popular and quite an instrument to play. My parents have always fostered a love for music, and my sister has taken up the violin. I myself play guitar and piano, and I think violins had a lot to the music I play. Whether or not they're popular as a whole, I am not entirely sure. But, I can say that I know a lot of bands, even rock bands, that utilize violins, so I am quite sure they are not being used just for classical music anymore.
