What are some good ways to initiate conversations with a guy who you don't really know that well?

Let's see, you can take notice if he wears particular sport shirts and start a conversation about that. you dont have to know the stats per say just the latest score. You can talk about the type of car he drives. Look at his total dress and see if there are other logo's that can make conversation. If you're in school see if he needs help or can give any in problem classes. Is he on any sports teams or would he like to go see any. I don't know if you feel comfortable just walking up to him and saying "Hi, my name is ________ and I noticed you go to eat at ______would you like to have lunch/dinner there sometime together?" If you know anyone mutually, that could be a good starting point too. Do you know where he works, ask if there hiring? Do you see him walking a dog or with any children at a park, bring your own and there are starters there. Don't be too forward. That turns some guys off, and don't do it in front of a large audience because that could backfire on you. See if you hear of any up and coming parties, especially with the holidays coming. Look in your local newspapers to see if there are any concerts or sport shows coming and if you noticed any of those logo's, you can bring that up. Depending on the guy, you may just be able to smile and say hello and the conversation can go off on its own. Good luck!
