I have played many horse games throughout my life. MY favorite hands-down, though, is Saddle Up with Pippa Funnell. The storyline is engaging, the graphics are acceptable if not excellent, and the events are not impossible (a nice change from a game like My Horse and Me or Champion Dreams: First to Ride). I loved the setting of the game, and the fact that you can get more than one horse (that is always a bonus). Taking care of the horses isn't too hard, either, but it's engaging enough where you always pretty much have something to do. The game can be difficult at times. You need to know how to get places on your horse FAST, and you have a lot of timed challenges, but it's SO fun to play. I also like the characters a lot.

My second favorite is probably Competitions at Rosemond Hill. Now, this game is nowhere near as well designed as Saddle Up. The graphics are clumsy at best, the storyline is a bit stiff, and you sort of have to do things in order or you get stuck on a level. But it's just one of those games I love to play, and while it may not offer TOO much in the way of engaging storyline at least it HAS a storyline. It's worth the time it takes to play it.

Champion Dreams: First to Ride has probably the most intricate plot out of the games I've played (unless you count Nancy Drew: Secrets of Shadow Ranch, which I'm not sure I would). The dressage is nigh impossible, though, and you have to put in a TON of time into learning how the game works. People kidnap your horse a lot, too, so it's annoying to have to go look for it on foot all the time. So if you play this game learn the places you are at as quickly as you can, because chances are you will have to race someone, or chase someone, or run after your horse in a timely fashion. But despite its flaws (a strange glowing orb that helps you in your quest, annoying chaperones that are constantly needing to be distracted, and a twisted love triangle that irritates the heck out of me) it's pretty fun to play, especially if you are into the heavier plots (I sure am). Again, it is difficult to play.

Saddle Up: Time to Ride is probably an easier game than Champion Dreams with a moderately good storyline. My only qualms is that the graphics are awkward at times and the characters can be a bit annoying. Still, it's a pretty fun game to play and not nearly as demanding as Champion Dreams or Saddle Up with Pippa Funnell. I guess the mystery side of the game is more complicated and you have to figure out how the cards work to open the fireplace (wow that sounds... weird) but it's not too bad. I played it when I was fourteen, though, so I guess I had SOME brainpower at the time (haha).

The Barbie games are surprisingly fun and the graphics are well done for the most part. The storyline usually lacks some fervor but I found the two I played (a very old version and the newer version) to be fun, if not a little childish ("Hey look, something shiny!"). Of course, Barbie Horse Adventures on the PS2 was one of my favorites. It was super fun to play, the plot was fun, and I still liked to ride around on my pretty customizable horses after I finished the whole plot thing. And don't judge, because Barbie games CAN be really fun (even some of my sister's guy friends used to play my Barbie Secret Agent game back in the day).

HuntAndJump is a genetics, showing and stable management game geared towards teens and adults. It uses real color genetics, so you'll probably end up learning a lot!

Everything is at a relaxed pace and you can go days, weeks, months, etc. without logging in and everything will be just fine. You don't have to bother with feeding and training. You can tack up your horses and new tack items are always being added. You can manage a barn with hundreds of horses and not feel overwhelmed at all.

The forum is full of helpful people, too!

Signing up takes 30 and you'll be hooked!

Howrse is another good one! It's a pretty friendly community, and easy to get started, though it can be a little complicated.

A Virtual Horse is another one. The horses are actually animated, even though it's a point-and click game, and it's pretty easy to make money and understand

Mystable- Very simple, but entertaining. It's currently getting a total revamp.

Horseland.com is one of the oldest horse game websites and the fact that it has been around for so long means it has stood the test of time. It's free.

But as far as Horses Games for the PC is concerned, I had to ask my Horse Mad daughter and she said she likes:

Planet Horse - because it has brilliant graphics

Riding Academy 1 & 2 because she felt she was able to grow up alongside the heroine.

Well, I think that starstable is one of the best..but whatever you do, do not play my horse. All you have to do is search starstable.come, you go on quests and what sucks is that you have to have a membership to jump but overall it's one of the best horse games I've ever played. Hope that helped! :D
