  1. Construction: 25.6%
  2. Metallic products (iron, steel), machinery and equipment (aerospace, motor vehicles): 19.9%
  3. Food and Beverages: 19.2%
  4. Chemical products, oil products and plastics: 9.8%
  5. Electricity, gas and water production: 5.3%
  6. Non-metallic products (cement, glass): 4.5%
  7. Textiles and textile products: 4.5%
  8. Other industries (basic metal refining, paper and paper products, wood products, optical and consumer products): 11.2%

All these activities add up 26.6% of Mexico's Gross Domestic Product - the percentage dedicated to industrial activities - or USD$411.8 billion out of a total GDP of USD$1,548 billion for 2008.
