Two common pain relievers that do not contain aspirin are--
acetaminophen, commonly marketed as "Tylenol"
ibuprofen, commonly marketed as "Advil."
Other, more powerful pain relievers are narcotic, such as morphine, and can cause addiction.
I'm not a doctor, but to the best of my knowledge most narcotics do not contain aspirin or Tylenol. Aspirin, Tylenol, ibuprofen and many other over the counter pain relievers are added to narcotics to contribute to their intended effect (such as Tylenol 3 which is codiene and acetaminophen combined or vicoprofen - vicodin and ibuprofen combined). If you are questioning whether a legal, prescribed narcotic contains any of these ingredients, you should consult your physician. If you are seeking an illegal narcotic without these ingredients, you should be ware...there is no way of knowing what is in any "street" drug. Aspirin, Tylenol and many other easy to obtain OTCs are used as fillers for illegal drugs. Not to mention rat poison, laxatives or acetone (fingernail polish remover).
Above incorrect. Most all pain killers contain acetomenophen(Tylenol) unless you have some sort of liver disease inwhich then the doctor will prescribe lortab and vicodin that are called narco which are aspirin and Tylenol free.Alot of oxycodone and percocets that are the very small pills will not contain it either, but the majority of the larger pain pills do contain Tylenol.
The second answer to this question that claims the the first is incorrect is actual the one that is incorrect. Lortab and Norco both contain acetaminophen. They are a combination of hydrocodone and APAP. There are a few narcotics that do not contain APAP, but they require a special prescription form. You can get oxycodone without APAP, morphine without APAP, and a few others. Thanks for letting me clear up this issue.
Many of the painkillers can be found without Tylenol or other substance. They use those as a "booster" for the meds.
Oxycodone, Oxycontin, Morphine, codiene, etc.
They can be pills which do not contain opioids, e.g. NSAIDs (nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs), such as Indomethacin or Naproxen.
Acetaminophen (Tylenol), Ibuprofen (Advil or Motrin), and Naproxen Sodium (Aleve).
Gee, where do I begin. Acetaminophen, ibuprofen, codeine, morphine, hydrocodone, oxycodone, heroin, flurbiprofen, and of course the old reliable alcohol.
percocet, vicodin
none of them are good. They kill the liver and the kidneys. I would use a really good quality omega like omegaxL.
Codeine
Narcotics are drugs that alleviate physical pain, suppress coughing, alleviate diarrhea, and induce anesthesia. Natural narcotics are derived from the Opium poppy and synthetic narcotics are made to act like the major constituents of Opium (thebaine, morphine, codeine). Legal, synthetic narcotics such as OxyContin (oxycodone) and Vicodin (hydrocodone) are prescribed as pain-relievers but are often diverted for illegitimate uses. Heroin is an illegal narcotic, derived from morphine.
Methadone, oxycodone, vicodin, codeine...
Codeine
There are various types of narcotics that include prescription medications as well as street drugs such as cocaine. Narcotics are naturally occurring or semi-naturally occurring and include opioids and opiates. Demerol, Codeine, and Vicodin are narcotics.
You can test positive for narcotics, which codeine is. If you have been taking codeine, it's helpful to have a doctor's note and evidence of a prescription to show that your narcotics use is legit and not illegal drug abuse.
Tylenol with codeine and morphine are both narcotics. The actual chemical name for codeine is methylmorphine. Both are derived from the poppy plant.(opium) Codeine has most of the pharmacologic characteristics of morphine. Just not as strong
Heroin Smack, Horse, Mud, Brown sugar, Junk, Black tar, and Big H=Morphine Pectoral syrup==Opium Paregoric, Dover's Powder, Parepectolin==Codeine Empirin compound with codeine, Tylenol with codeine, Codeine in cough medicine=
Those are called narcotics. They include morphine, heroin, and codeine, among others.
it is combined with oxycodone in Percocet, Tylenol with Codeine (Number's 1-4) and with hydrocodone which is Vicodin or Norco.
"EXEMPT NARCOTICS" is a term is used to generally describe those Over-the-Counter (OTC) medications, that contain low-level dosages of narcotic and narcotic-type drugs. They are dispensed without prescription but the purchaser MUST sign a register in order to receive delivery of them (e.g.- Paregoric, or codeine-based cough syrup).
I live in Belgium, so I can say "Belgium' with certainty.
