You shouldn't necessarily consume any. I'm not by any means a vegan, but I do know the human body does not NEED meat. Your body will get along very well, possibly even better, on a supply of vegetables, fruit and grains.

Vegetarian: You consume no meat or fish, but can eat both eggs and dairy as they are not a creature they are a produce of the animal. Lean meat, fish, and poultry are very high in protein. Because of the protein in them, you should eat it.
If the fast is completely against meat, then yes, because fish is considered a meat.
They also consume a variety of insects for protein, especially during their nesting cycle. And they should not eat red meat.
I think the best thing is to eat healthy, balance diet and do exercise. Red meat should not be eaten excessively and food like fish and vegetables be included in your diet.
