Among mainland Portugal's most popular attractions are its UNESCO World Heritage Sites.

1. The Alentejo Region [Região do Alentejo] in the south has one World Heritage Site: the historic center of Évora with its medieval walls and Roman temple.

2. The Central Region [Região Centro] has two World Heritage Sites: the Batalha Monastery [Mosteiro Santa Maria da Vitória]; and the Convent of the Order of Christ [Convento de Cristo].

3.
