Large amounts conifers and tundra's spread inside Siberia. Geographically, Russia is a single space of land that stretches from the East European states to the Chucock Meridian in the east. 75% of the Russian territory lies in Asia and 25% in mostly Northern Europe. Surrounding Russia are many forms of water, 12 seas and 3 oceans. The deepest and most useful freshwater lake is Baikal, or "The Blue Eye of Siberia". Lake Baikal is known to be the oldest lake in the word, recording to be almost 25,000 years old and home to 2/3 of plants and animals which can be found nowhere else in the world. Lake Baikal is the freshwater lake in the world by volume. Russia contains almost a quarter of the world's largest un-frozen freshwater lakes.
