What are some of the ways the ocean affects weather?

Answer:
The oceans are the heat engine that runs the planet. The waters are warmest and lightest near the equator and move North, if you are North of the equator. The warm waters carry heat which is eventually lost and the colder denser water moves back toward the equator. This is the ocean conveyor system.
An example is the Gulf Stream. It moves North from the equator and out across the Atlantic. It brings milder weather to Europe and the south of England.
Another example is the warm waters off Africa that move along the equator and provide heat and fuel hurricanes.
Without this heat England would be colder, the Eastern US would be colder and hurricanes would not formbye vanessa6301
