What are some signs your baby is getting ready for delivery? In: Labor and Birth |
[Edit] |
Answer
Sometimes you get a nesting instinct and have to clean your house from top to bottom.
You may crave carbohydrate, go with this because they don't call it labor for nothing.
The Braxton-Hicks contractions get stronger.
The baby may get less active or more active.
YOu may have a 'show', a blood streaked mucus plug comes away from the cervix as it starts to dilate. However this may precede labor by several days.
Your 'waters' may break, it feels as though you are passing urine but you are unable to control it. If this happens you should see your birth attendant immediately as labor may have to be induced if you don't start naturally within a day as the baby no longer has the waters protecting it from infection.
Your contractions start coming more regularly and painfully.
Very occasionally the first sign you have is that you want push, like having your bowels open.
Truly some women are that lucky.
