Between Hinduism and Buddhism there is some common tradition and the Buddha was a Hindu, but generally Hindus believe in a God and Buddhists do not. I am a Buddhist. As to Islam it is an Abrahamic faith just like Christianity and Judaism are, meaning they trace there heritage back to Abraham and all believe in the same creator God. After that there are other similarities in the 3 but far more differences.
There are not two but numerous religions in India. Hinduism, Christianity, Sikhism etc are some of them.
I would say that first off, Hinduism and Buddhism are more similar, in regards to personnel development and seeking enlightenment (Moksa in Hinduism), than either of them to Christianity. As to similarities, seeking to live a righteous and moral life, and non-violence are common goals.
Buddhism doesn't have any Gods. It is a nontheistic religion.
As such Buddhism did not reject anything about Hinduism rather the people were exploited by he priests and their approach was too dogmatic and blind faith was on the spread. Caste ism was on the rise these are some of the factors that lead to the popularity of Buddhism but the Hindu priests felt the threat and saw the downfall of Hinduism, meanwhile King Asoka took upon himself to spread Buddhism but it couldn't hold roots in India . It is strange that though Buddhism was born in India it is practiced more in eastern countries and other parts of the world Hope this answers your query For more info go to www.sgi.org

I think this is just too big a question for me. I will say that within each of these traditions there isn't one simple explanation to compare with the simple explanations in the other traditions.
Buddhism takes Hinduism as its cultural context. As a consequence many of the references are common to both religions, -e.g. a cycle of death and rebirth, nirvana. Buddhism then pulls away from Hinduism in the rejection of a supernatural or deity inspired involvement with humans. In th e same WA Christianity and Islam have similarities to Judaism and use its cultural references as a base, but pull away from some of its beliefs.

Hinduism did not directly change into Buddhism. Rather, Buddhism emerged as a separate religious tradition in ancient India, influenced by the ideas and teachings of Hinduism. Buddhism incorporated some Hindu concepts and philosophies but also introduced new ideas, such as the Four Noble Truths and the Eightfold Path, that differentiated it from Hinduism. Hinduism and Buddhism coexisted and developed alongside each other in ancient India.
Hinduism and Buddhism thoughts are different at many levels. Such as Hinduism was never founded by a man while Buddhism was founded by man. Violence is prohibited in Buddhism while in some cases it might be allowed in Hinduism.
