Rules of High School FootballDepends on the state. But most states use NFHS rules, with some changes pertaining to eligibility.

where do i start with this totally simplistic answer. why dont we start with length of game. high school uses 12 minute quarters as opposed to 15. Penalty markoffs are different in many different areas. automatic first down penalties are not the same. Offsides (encroachment) is different. In high school once you jump offside the play is dead and the penalty is marked off. class of one two baby. [[hate on it]]

Well, if by 'most states' you mean Texas and Massachusetts, you're right. The other 48 used National Federation of High School (NFHS) rules. There are several difference between NFHS and NCAA rules.

Texas and Massachusetts have several modifications to the NCAA rules. In Texas it is more appropriate to refer to UIL rules. Most penalties that the offense can commit the defense can commit as well, with the same penalty. For example, defensive holding is a 10 yard penalty. Pass interference also tends to be a major question. In highschool, it is 15 yards from the line of scrimmage and an automatic first down. If the official determines that it was intentional, another 15 can be added to that. While Pro uses a spot foul and college is 15 or a spot foul, what ever is less.

to get ready you start by using weights such as dumbbells are a bench press. If you don't have either than just do a lot push ups and squats for you legs

To help with speed and your endurance's you should run 1-4 miles a day.

And also you well need a strong core so do over 100 crunches for 3-4 days a week (If your starting out you should start with 25 crunches and work you way up.)

All the above and make sure you have gear (such as running shoes/cleats/wrist coaches, girdle pad sets, other personal protection). Two a day practices can be brutal. Call the guys at XO Sports for all your team needs! They've got you covered.
