Germany has many places of interest to tourists. Please bear in mind that most of the larger places were severely bombed in World War 2 and often have few buildings of any great age. This applies, for example, to Berlin.
Listing all places of interest to tourists would be impossible. Here is a selection:
- North Germany: Berlin, Bremen, Luebeck, Wismar, Stralsund, Lueneburg.
- Harz Mountains: Goslar, Quedlinburg and many other smaller places.
- Rhineland: Cologne, Koblenz and the Rhine Valley south of Bonn.
- South-West: Black Forest, Tuebingen, Konstanz and various smaller places on the Bodensee (Lake of Constance).
- Bavaria: Munich, Nuremberg, Rothenburg ob der Tauber, Dinkelsbuehl, Noerdlingen, Wieskirche - many places in the Alps, too. Also Wuerzburg and Bamberg.
- Saxony: Dresden, Leipzig, Koenigstein an der Elbe.
The most famous attraction in Germany is most likely the Autobahn. A high-speed highway that has no speed limit at all in certain areas. People from all over the world, including car manufacturers and testers, come their to drive cars on public roadways at speeds that would be illegal anywhere else.
Tourists in Germany primarily go sightseeing, but they also visit many of the 'beer halls' to taste the beers and foods.
