Of course, pattern and fabric choice are first. Second you have to cut the pattern out or use a rotary ruler. sewing and piecing is always done with a 1/4" seam. A sandwich with the backing on the bottom, batting, and top on top is then made and quilted together. lastly, the binding is attached.
