During WW2 there was the "front" in Europe/ Western Asia, the front in Africa and the front in the Pacific Ocean on islands like Okinawa, Midway etc. However, we only have two days that we celebrate as ending the war in that particular front. These are VE day denoting European victory and VJ Day denoting Japanese Victory.

There were only three that I know of.

The Pacific Front- the war with Japan in the Pacific

The African Front- Allied movements through North Africa leading up to the invasion and the liberation of Italy, liberation of Poland and the invasion of Southern Germany.

The European Front- The liberation of France, The Rhine Land and eventually the invasion of East/West Germany.

the two main areas of of the world where ww2 was fought were in Europe between Germany and Italy vs England France and Poland and in Asia where Japan fought china and later the colonial empires of the west. after defeating France most of the European fighting either became a stalemate or moved to north Africa. in Asia the fighting mainly occurred in china until japan attacked the USA and the colonial empires in southeast Asia and Indonesia. eventually the Germany attacked Russia and the most intense fighting of the war began to happen in eastern Europe until the USA became involved and re started the fight in Western Europe. if there were three areas they might be eastern Europe, north Africa and china. as these places suffered the most destructive and longest periods of war
