Best Answer

1. Scrape off loose food and rinse off dishes.

2. Fill the sink with very warm water and a squirt of soap. Use sponge or dishcloth to wash

3. Put silverware in front area of sink; all handles on one end.

4. Wash non-greasy dishes first: cups and glasses

5. Wash plates, bowls, serving dishes

6. Wash silverware and then pans

You can rinse dishes as you go or at the end of the process. If you have someone drying the dishes as you go, rinsing them as you wash is the way to go.

If you are washing dishes one by one,

1. Wet dishes

2. Put soap on dishes

3. Wash with sponge

4. Wet dishes again to get soap off

  • Wet your hands with clean water - warm, if available - and apply soap.
  • Lather by rubbing hands together; be sure to cover all surfaces.
  • Continue rubbing hands together for 15 to 20 seconds
  • Thoroughly rinse hands under running water to ensure removal of residual germs.
  • Use paper towels or an air dryer to dry hands and then, if possible, use a paper towel to turn off the faucet, also to grab the door handle with on the way out.

A dishwasher with appropriate detergent is one way. If you wash by hand, scrape loose food off first, then rinse in hot water. Then wash in detergent (a little bleach in the water helps cut grease and kills germs). Then rinse in hot water again and let air dry in a rack.

Wetting your hands, then appying soap. Generally speaking, you should at least keep washing for 30 seconds if you want to get your hands sufficiently clean.

Always use hot water to clean your dishes! Even if gloves are needed. Use a good dish cleaning soap. Wash both sides of items. Look for tiny crevices where germs and dirt may be clinging to. A tooth pick may help to dig wha is there, out.

Pray to God for all the help we can get.
