Prose is written in regular paragraph form, while poetry is written in structured lines and stanzas that often use poetic devices like rhyme and rhythm. Prose tends to focus on telling a story or conveying information, while poetry often emphasizes emotions and imagery through more creative language.

A prose is a literary medium that attempts to mirror the language of everyday speech. It is distinguished from poetry by its use of unmetered, unrhymed language consisting of logically related sentences. Prose is usually grouped into paragraphs that form a cohesive whole such as an essay or a novel. On the other hand, poetry is a form of literary art in which language is used for its aesthetic and evocative qualities in addition to, or in lieu of, its apparent meaning.

The major difference is that poetry has line breaks. Another difference is in the form, or "rules", of poetry, such as meter, rhyme, rhythm, alliteration, assonance, etc.

Prose can be defined as the natural conveyance of language. What I have written here is prose, not poetry.

A good question, I must admit.

Simply I need to say and clarify that a prose can be a poetry, however, a poetry, can never be a prose!

Poetry of a good rank has certain qualities that discriminates it from a piece of prose. It enjoys a rhyme, metre, the luxurious and sustained diction, wise and 'best words in best order', and at last a message that is universal and eternal!

A prose is piece that is with no rhyme, no embellishment of words, and not written in breaks.
