I would recommend being mates with boys because in all my 13 years of life I have come to realise that all girls can become really mean if you do something that they don't like, if you have and argument with you best 'girlfriend' it lasts for days, making snide comments and spreading rumours, but if you are mates with a boy, you have a bit of a duff up and you are mates again within minutes.
Boys are better... and that's coming from a girl!
