The codes from the RCA pamphlet are: SHARP - 2001, 2012, 2018, 2040, 2084, 2092, 2113.
You will find that codes are only unique to the brand of universal remote you bought. This means that the right code for an RCA remote will be worthless for a GE, Zenith, Philips, etc brand of remote.
Universal remotes generally work fine for TVs but are usually very unsatisfactory for many VCRs. Often the clock can't be set so the VCR timer can't be programmed due the memory or enter button not functioning [and on and on]. You need a remote for that exact VCR. Google "1-800-remote" [expensive] and get the original remote part number and it's generic number. Then, Google "Ebay remote control part #-------- & #-------." You may be suprised how reasonable you can buy a used or generic remote specifically for your VCR. That way all your functions will work correctly.
