Also, when threatened, the Texas horned lizards shoot streams of blood from the corners of their eyes, which confuses their predators. Plus the blood is mixed with a chemical that makes it taste bad to canine predators like wolves, coyotes, and domestic dogs. They can also puff up their bodies to make it difficult for a predator to swallow them.
