The desert hedgehog, as its name suggests, inhabits desert and arid scrub, mostly in Africa and the Middle East. To that end, it needs a number of adaptations to help it survive these harsh conditions.
Firstly, it is a nocturnal animal, hunting for food at night time. This helps it to keep cool. During the day, the desert hedgehog stays within a small burrow that it digs to avoid the heat.
Naturally, being a desert animal, it must feed on what is readily available in the desert environment. it is particularly fond of scorpions, from which it nips off the stinger before consuming. It also eats other invertebrates, baby snakes, and birds' eggs. Its kidneys are specially adapted so that it can go for long periods of time without needing to drink water.
The desert hedgehog is covered with tiny, sharp spines. When the desert hedgehog is threatened by danger, its muscles contract (tighten) and pull the skin taut around its body. This enables it to roll into a ball so that its spines will stick out in all directions, providing a very effective, protective covering.
Living underground have specialized kidneys have developed particular behaviors can go into a state of estivate and have particular body aspects like cheek pouches.
The cactus has a number of structural adaptations that allow it to live in the harsh conditions of the desert. Many other plants lack these adaptations and cannot survive in a desert.
Size reduction.
Here's one: A Sonoran Desert Toad has a long sticky tongue for catching prey.
long ears to keep it cool and tanned fur to camouflage it
Deserts do not adapt. That is something only living organisms such as plants and animals can do,
in the desert !

There are hedgehogs in African deserts.
I think you can easily find any desert plant with adaptations
some adaptations of hedgehogs are spines, a strong backbone (helps them roll into a ball to hide from predators) and nocturnal
Forest hedgehogs hibernate. However, if Desert hedgehogs are exposed to cold conditions, they die.
There are occasionally rodents in the Sahara Desert such as rats, hedgehogs and other small things
They use their spikes as a defensive mechanism...
they have spiky backs so any predatoes cant get them!
they dig a burrough in the ground to keep cool
Hedgehogs live in parts of the Sahara and have spines.
