Advantages are that it is cheap, quick and one of the simplest spectrometers. Perhaps the last point could be seen as a disadvantage... Does any one know any disadvantages?
you need to create standard solutions, needs to be repetively diluted, have to heat it(in some cases) these are some i can think of :P
