2. The frequency response specifications can be satisfied by a lower order filter.
3. Due to presence of zeroes unlike butterworth, chebyshev, it can effectively notch out frequencies.

disadvantages:
1. It has ripples both in passband as well as stopband.
2. It has a highly non-linear phase response in passband especially near band-edge.
3. Design and implementation is complicated.
