However, perhaps one advantage of a generation gap is that a younger person could learn from the wisdom and experience that an older person has acquired with age.

A generation gap is really referring to differences between people of younger generations and their elders, especially between children and their parents. However I understand your question. A favourable generation gap is more sucessful when the male is much older than his wife or partner, rather than the other way round. Though the woman may readily settle in quite comfortably with a much older male partner. An older female partner has the worry of loosig her looks and figure. Older male partners can act as a father figer to a younger woman which makes her feel comfortable. An older female companion can cause her much younger partner to develope a wandering eye.

It is possible that both may work out and a happy relationship can exist. It would be my advice to keep the gap as narrow as possible. Looking at it another way the older male partner may loose the twinkle in his eye, while a female partner will always have her eyes wide open........
