∙ 15y agoEnvironmentally damaging chemicals in the cooling unit of older fridges cause damage to the ozone layer. Modern fridges are massively inefficient and must be left on constantly to keep food fresh- massive energy consumption. Mean smaller shops lose out to supermarkets as people do one big shop and keep food fresh all week.
