What are the advantages of being a vegetarian?

Answer:
Please take into account that if you ask for the advantages of being vegetarian, you're going to get a pro-vegetarian's opinion, so the view is biased. Just like if you asked for the disadvantages, you would get a non-vegetarian opinion.
In the end, people are only going to support what they believe, so you're probably better off doing some research into the matter on a website that isn't as biased as this.

Opinion:

Many believe it's better for your health. Studies show that there is a correlation between being a vegetarian and having a lower rate of heart disease and cancer.

Also, it is easier to produce vegetarian food If the whole world were vegan, we would be able to feed twice the amount of people that we can feed now.

Speculation:

  • Animals are treated in cruel and inhumane ways in order to be put onto a plate
  • The consumption of animal products has been linked to heart disease, certain cancers, and other conditions
  • The meat industry is a huge polluter of water and air with high CO2 emissions
  • Humans were not made to digest meat, natural carnivores have digestive systems that are about three times their body length and natural herbivores as well as humans have digestive systems that are about ten to twelve times the length of their bodies, meaning that our bodies were made to consume grains, fruits and vegetables
  • Unlike natural carnivores, humans do not feel the impulse of hunting and killing live animals and eating their raw flesh, humans use spices and cook meats to hide the natural textures and tastes

Opinion:

Vegetarianism is very good! I am personally a vegetarian, and I think it is the best thing that I do. I don't believe that it is right to eat helpless animals. I couldn't imagine riding by a farm, and seeing cows, then going to Burger King and eating a Whopper. Some people say that your body needs meat, but there are other ways for your body to get what it needs, without eating animals.
I think animals are beautiful and i would never eat them

It's a healthy lifestyle all together. Less fat from meats and less chance of some nasty diseases.

It's good for the animals, good for the environment, and good for us.

The biggest pro is, of course, saving millions of animal lives. Its also healthier if you remember to eat a balanced diet and get all the protein and iron you need. Vegetarians run less risk of types or heart disease and cancer. Vegetarians are also generally less fat. I hope you consider it :)
It reduces the possibilities of being overweight, lowers blood cholesterol levels, decreases the risk of various disorders such as high blood pressure, stroke, heart diseases, diabetes, rheumatoid arthritis, osteoporosis, kidney diseases, gallstones and cancer & you get the satisfaction of helping speak up for our furry friends.
They eat quorn which is low fat, you loose a lot of weight without meat. Eat normal meals but without the meat, for example roast diner with: roast potatoes, yorkshire puddings, vegtable gravy, any types of vegtables and quorn chicken. Yummy!
