Does Cetaphil help with acne?

Cetaphil doesn't directly help with acne. Cetaphil is non-comedogenic, that means that it has been tested and will not clog pores. Cetaphil is just a mild soap or lotion, depending on which cetaphil product you are using, that does not clog pores and has been tested to be hypoallergenic and fragrance-free. Most acne fighting products contain Benzoyl Peroxide or Salicylic Acid, as they are the current most popular treatments. Prescriptions contain different chemicals and you would need to discuss them with a doctor. Some acne masks may contain sulfur as a way to control oily skin, as oily skin can lead to clogged pores and a breakout. If you want to try acne products and have sensitive skin you should find a non-comedogenic acne product line and if you have sensitive skin you should also look for hypoallergenic. If you want more help with over the counter treatments your local pharmacist, doctor or dermatologist would be the best people to talk to.

How To Select Best Acne Treatments?

Acne affects millions of teens and adults. It can be hard to find the right treatment for acne, if you don’t know where to start. In order to find the best acne treatments, you will need to figure out what your skin type is. There are five skin types, which are normal, oily, dry, sensitive, and combination. Once you decide what your skin type is, you can find out what acne treatment would be best for you. Normal Skin 1.Wash face with gentle cleanser and rinse off with warm water. A good gentle cleanser would be Cetaphil for Normal to Oily Skin. 2.Pat your face dry and let it dry for 10 minutes. 3.Apply a thin layer of 2% salicylic acid onto your face. Salicylic acid comes in a gel, toner, and moisturizer. 4.Let the salicylic acid dry for 10 minutes before applying a SPF 15 moisturizer. 5.Apply Olay SPF 15 moisturizer for normal skin. 6.Repeat the process at night, but at night use Cetaphil moisturizer on face after applying salicylic acid. Oily and Combination Skin 1.Wash face with an oil-free cleanser, preferably one that is a gel cleanser. Use warm water to rinse. 2.Pat dry and allow the face to dry for 10 minutes. 3.Apply a thin layer of 2.5% benzoyl peroxide to face and let it dry for 10 minutes. 4.Apply Olay SPF 15 Sensitive Skin moisturizer. 5.Repeat the same process at night, but use Cetaphil moisturizer at night after using benzoyl peroxide. Dry and Sensitive Skin 1.Wash face with a gentle cleanser and rinse off with warm water. 2.Pay dry and wait 10 minutes before applying acne medication. 3.Apply a thin layer of 0.5% salicylic acid to face and let it dry for 10 minutes. 4.Apply Olay SPF 15 dry skin moisturizer to face. 5.At night, repeat and use Cetaphil moisturizer on your face after applying acne medication.

What can help dry oily skin?

Use Cetaphil twice a day with lukewarm to cold water and if its started to brake out in zits use Maximum Strength Spot Treatment after washing your face with Cetaphil but be warned the Spot treatment will dry out your face even more. So once the zits are gone you can stop using the spot treatment and keep using Cetaphil. And yes i have used this stuff and it works for me but i'm not sure if it will work for you. Also i got both of them at Wal-Mart.

Using a face wash twice a say, morning and before bed, is right. When buying face wash, be sure to look for one that is extra-gentle and doesn't contain soap. Two recommended brands are Cetaphil and Neutrogena. You can also apply a moisturizer after washing to help prevent dryness.
