What are the benefits of a college minor?

It looks good on your resume

A minor involves taking less courses in a particular subject than a major does. Not all colleges allow you to take a "minor" course of study. And some jobs just require any bachelor's degree regardless of the major.

So while a minor does not prepare you for a given career as well as "majoring" in the subject, it does look good on your resume. If you majored in International Relations, and minored in Spanish, let's say, that would show an employer that you should be more qualified for a particular job than just the solo major would.
