we are therefore not using plastics and not polluting or releasing toxins
cloth bags are made by organic materials and are less harmful to the environment as compared to polythene bags

∙ 11y agoFirist, it keeps production of plastics bags down, reducing petroleum use. It also keeps the bags out of the landfills and landscapes. Reusable bags are generally stronger, eliminating the need for "double bagging". One can also fit more in a reusable bag.

Unfortunately paper is not much use when goods are of a wet or potentially wet nature.Also in countries where they get rain on a regular basis,paper bags can often mean a nervous journey to the car,office or home.
