Does a microwave or stove pop popcorn faster?

Room temp. popcorn works better than frozen but popcorn cold from the fridge works even better. Freeze some popcorn for at least 1-2 days. And put the other popcorn in the kitchen or wherever an let it sit there. Then put them separately in the microwave for about 2-3 mins. After that you open them up (be careful not to burn yourself) and count the unpopped kernels and the popped kernel's. See how much of a difference there is. I tried this in class with other people. So I know i works.

Microwave would be easier because no oil has to be measured out and no pot gets dirty.

Can you cook popcorn without using oil?

To my knowings, you cannot pop popcorn in the oven. You can, however, buy the original Jiffy Pop for the stove (the flat tin with the handle in the popcorn isle). You simply heat up your stove top, then shake the popcorn bag over the stove top slowly then faster as the popcorn pops.

What are the pros and cons of an air popper?

The pros of a popcorn air popper are that it's heating mechanism pops popcorn quickly compared to the stove-top poppers which require more time and are usually messier as well. The popcorn pops fresher through an air popper and is less messy. Cons of air poppers include that seeds will often spill out of the spout before they pop. Also, the butter-melting cup that sits on top of the popper will not always melt the butter quickly enough before it has to be used.
