What are the benefits to getting married? |
[Edit] |
Answer
Some people prefer to live together and do it quite well, while some of us want to be married under God's presence and mean what we say when we say our vows. If one feels that being married and saying those vows will make the two stay together and work through the problems that will arise in their marriage so be it.
Statistics show that whether living common law or being married in a church the ratio of divorce is high in both.
Personally speaking, I preferred being married in church under the eyes of God the first time, but my partner forgot those vows. The second time I was married it was a Chapel Wedding and I'm happy to say that my partner and I have been happily married for 36 years. It made my husband and I feel closer and that we making an solemn oath to each other which in turn made us work harder through the rough spots that every married couple have to go through.
It's really up to the two individuals.
