Modeling schools are not necessary to break into the modeling field. Many modeling agencies frown upon such companies because they often have to break bad habits. Agencies prefer new and inexperienced models and will train them for free when they have offered them a contract so there are other ways to approach pursuing the modeling industry. Modeling schools, classes and conventions "sell" people their dreams for a large price and as long as you are willing to pay the money, they will accept anyone, including those that don't even have the real potential to begin with.
There are no shortcuts to modeling. Modeling schools cannot guarantee that you will get signed and become successful. If you finish their schooling and still do not get signed, then you are out of luck as well as a lot of money. Stick to the free way by attending open casting calls and sending your information and pictures to legit modeling agencies.

∙ 14y agoThe best way to get training is to be signed to an agency. Modeling agencies train new and inexperienced models for free after they've been offered a contract. You can also do test shoots with photographers to get an idea of what it is like to model in front of a camera.
