I would start with turning all 3 screws clockwise until they are snug. Then turn the low speed screw 1/4 turn counter clockwise, the high speed screw 3/4 turn counter clockwise and the main adjusting screw 1 and 1/4 turn counter clockwise. This is just to start. once its running u can fine tune everything from there mainly the main adjusting screw.
Don't do that....
the Stihl workshop manual says to seat the H and L screws until firm, then open each 1 full turn. For the LA, I'd just turn it counter clockwise till it feels loose, then turn it in until it starts to feel just a hint of resistance. the LA only opens the throttle. Once running, adjust it accordingly. Use a tachometer. if not available, take it to a shop! if you must do this yourself, check out Madsen's web site... they have video and wav files to help you. Remember... too lean on the H screw will destroy your engine in short order.
the 026 pro is a newer version
What is the part number of the sprocket of stihl 025 ?
49cc
maybe baby.
The Stihl 026 Pro has a 44mm X 32 MM bore and stroke 48.7 cc 2.96 c.i. with about 3.2 h.p. The Stihl MS 260 has a 44.7mm X 32 MM bore and stroke 50.2 cc 3.06 c.i. with about 3.2 h.p. The figures I have here I found on several different internet links. Hope this answers your question. Thanks. Bryan

only how the model number reads. In 2001 Stihl changed how there model numbers read. Previous to 2001 for example their models were such as: 026,044,046,064,066. Once they changed the model#'s they changed them to: MS260, MS440, MS460 etc.... Saws are still the same MS means: "Motor schlagen" or in German "Chainsaw" There IS A DIFFERENCE! the newer models that use the reversed numbers of the old Models (026 = 260 for examples) have the EPA carburators. This makes for a slightly less powerful/efficient saw.
In 2002 the MS260 replaced the (identical) model 026, which had been in production since 1988
looking from the top of the saw, the serial number is on the clutch side on a thin metal strip on the housing where the clutch cover mates ,next to the muffler. you may have to hold the clutch brake back for easier sight. i believe the sticker stands for hearing protection.
the two big names in chain saws is stihl and husquarna. chainsaws comes in three general uses. 1: hobby/ household use. light use 2: farmer. medium use 3: professional heavy use that in turns, means how much you will use your saw, and what "power" you are looking for. the numbers on the older saws, were really simple, it was the cc displacement of the cylinder. examble: 026 stihl = 26 cc, well all most 26 cc. 036 sthil= ????? yes 36 cc, well all-most and so on with stihl. its a matter of size with stihl, then you have the letter coding on them as well, like the new t200 (old version 020) t = trimming, 200=020. it is a small professional climbing saw, you use for trimming trees while climbing. all major brand names in the saw world have changed the numbers and letters on their products so many times, that even the every day user has to look it all up on line. if you want to now about the numbers on the bar let me know
Dutch area code 026 (or international +31 26) is Arnhem.
.026 = 2.6%
