Making the High School Basketball Team

It all boils down to the commitment that you make to the game and team, as well well as your overall playing abilities. My son is almost 14 and has never played on the school basketball team, yet he informed me today that he wants to tryout next month. He is in 8th grade, so there will be boys on the team that have been playing for awhile. Personally, I think he has a good shot. He is really tall, has been playing basketball at home and at school (on the playground) for quite some time and appears to have some skill. Right now I would keep practicing, pick up a few books on the sport to get some tips and recommendations and go into the tryouts with a positive attitude. Please let me know how it goes.
