In order to become a Scout Sniper for the Marine Corps you need to first enlist in an Infantry MOS. Second, you need to score extremely high on your ASVAB as well as get a perfect or near perfect PFT score as well as qualify as an expert marksman. Most of the time they look for people who have had at least 2 deployments and experience in combat. In most cases they look for people with no history of mental illness due to the effects that killing people as a job occupation can have on the mind, and usually no history of drug use or Criminal backgrounds. Rank also comes into play, and among many other things your physical and mental abilities such as vision and memory need to be in peak condition. Scouts Snipers are smart, atheletic and have the ability to stay calm and think on their feet in the most stressfull and physically demanding situations, and can be compared or closely regarded as being a Special Operations group do to the similarities in training.

Are the Marine Scout Snipers better than the Army Special Forces Snipers?

The abilities of each as shooters depends on the individual... whichever one is a better shot is going to be the better shot, no matter what branch they're in. As for Special Forces and Marine Scout Snipers, they're trained in rather different roles. A Marine Scout Sniper would not be trained in everything a Green Beret would be trained in, nor would a Green Beret have the same priorities in training as a Marine Scout Sniper.

Should i become a marine scout sniper or army sniper or navy sniper?

Well, first, you should ensure you can make it. You won't enlist into the Army or the Navy as a sniper - in the Army, you'd have to enlist as either an infantryman or Cavalry Scout, then request and be accepted for the Army's sniper course. IIRC, the only way to become a sniper in the Navy is by first becoming a SEAL. If you feel up to that challenge, by all means, go for it. I can't say with any certainty, but I believe you can enlist into the Marines for the Scout Sniper MOS. However, you still must pass the course before actually becoming a Scout Sniper. One thing you need to keep in mind is that there's a lot more to being a sniper than simply being a good shot. As for which one to choose, you need to decide what's best for you. -Bryce- Marine snipers are known for their best shot. Before you go in, you should know the basics on range cards, field sketches, moving silently in thick foilage, and other things. Knowing how to shoot a sniper (any BOLT-action rifle that can shoot past 250 yards, or a semi-auto rifle that could also shoot past 250 yards) rifle wouldn't hurt, either. Wish you the best of luck, and the choice is yours.
