"Stiff Man Syndrome" now usually called "Stiff Person Syndrome" is a rare disease of the nervous system that causes progressively severe muscle stiffness in the spine and legs. It is thought to be caused by an autoimmune disorder, where the enzyme responsible for making certain neurotransmitters is destroyed by the immune system.

Stiff person syndrome is very rare, so it is difficult to determine the exact prevalence of the disease. However, estimates are about 1 in 1 million people will get this disease. It is more common in diabetics, about 1 in 10 thousand people with Diabetes will be affected.

One in 1,176. I am assuming that you mean Down Syndrome? There is usually a genetic predisposition to this disease- meaning its genetic and runs in DNA. If no one in your family or his has Down Syndrome or other types of mental retardation, etc then the chances are relatively zero that your baby will have Down Syndrome. Its not going to be based on your significant other's sperm...
