The colours from top to bottom are: Black red gold (yellow).
In the past there were other flags:
Black white red flag, the flag of the second reich, from 1871 to 1918, aswell as the flag of the North German Confederation 1866 to 1871.

Black red gold (yellow), flag of the BRD, West Germany and now unified Germany.

Black-red-gold were the colours of the 1848 revolution and originally of the Holy Roman Empire. They were the colours of a group of (mainly Prussian student) volunteers who fought against France in the final stages of the Napoleonic Wars (Lützow's Freikorps).
