To celebrate Christmas, the Roman Catholic Church holds a series of masses starting December 16 which culminates with a midnight mass on Christmas Eve. Other Christian churches hold cantatas. Schools hold lantern parades. There are Christmas decorations everywhere--in houses, in department stores, in commercial buildings and offices, and along the streets. Singing Christmas carols and gift giving are also practiced.
