I think whatever we do t is with some purpose ..go to schhol..to get knowledge..
joina job for money to sustain when the ourpose is accepted by all we call it a goal and what we do for it s calles is called effort..
otherwise it becomes an act of convenience
Marriage is to enter an mandatoray stage in ones life whether it with long term perspective or for short trem advantage it depends on the couple how they mould it afterall no amount of premarital plannig will make a marriage a success. So there is nothing to demean it ,it ca be turnned into a successful life long partnership.
