Mosquitoes are harmful because they are vectors for many human diseases.

When they bite people to feed on blood they may pick up a disease form the person they bite. Then a few weeks later they go out and bite a second person and in doing so pass on the disease form the first person.

The mosquito is the biggest killer of humans on the planet at the moment.
