There are hundreds of different denominations.

Each country issues it's own denominations, ranging from fractional values (25 cents, 5 Shillings, 1 fen) to "normal" values like 1,2,5,10,20,50 and 100 Dollars/Pounds/Euro and then hyper-inflationary values like 100,000,000,000 Zimbabwean Dollars, plus almost everything in between.

The major currencies tend to only have a small number (US = 7, UK = 4, Euro = 7, Japan = 4).

The Bank of Canada issues $5, $10, $20, $50 and $100 notes. You will rarely see $100 in general circulation, but they can be requested from the bank.
