This is an interesting question, considering how much technology has changed.
In the past, we would say:
- we listen to music
- we read musical scores (the notes)
- we feel music, emotionally or notes in Brail
- we read books
- books and musical scores are imprinted on paper
- music is played through musical instruments or records
But, with increased technology, we can:
- listen to audio books
- we can read electronic books
- read or listen to books through iPads, cellphones, etc.
However, with the exception of the type of media music is placed on, music has remained relatively unchanged for centuries.
