Vegans refrain from consuming/ using any animal products. They also don't use beauty products that contain animal ingredients or were tested on animals. They also don't wear clothes that were made from animals - leather, fur, wool, silk. Vegans are against the exploitation of animals for any reason.
It's a lifestyle, not just a diet.
Vegetarians do not consume any animals and meat byproducts - beef, chicken, pork, fish, shellfish, cheese made from animal rennet, gelatin - but some do consume milk and eggs as well as other animal products.
