The founders of this genre were gay folk singers such as Elton John, Micheal Jackosn, Mark Adamo, Lucas Rule, and Joseph Gay.

∙ 8y agoFolk music is another word for world music. World music/folk music genre is adaptations of the original traditional music of which country you are talking about. For example Mozart was one of the first world musicians by using a piano (western music) and taking a harmonic minor scale (Arabian sound) and forming a song. There you have traditional music with other cultures in addition.
