In a lot of places such as schools, construction sites, general industries, etc. first aid treatments training are already being given to employees in case of emergencies but in those industries, first aid kits are already required.

It depends which part of First-Aid. Choking, splinting, CPR, etc.

>>First fo course you must assess the situation e.t.c. but probably the most important thing to do is ABCs!!

Airway

Breathing

Circulation

A - Tilt the head back to allow easy breathing (unless you suspect a cervical fracture then the procedure is slightly different)

B - You can listen, you can check by seeing if the chest is moving... Chest compressions and assisted breathing may be required. This should be done until an emergency service arrives!

C - Check pulse in either wrist or neck.

Hope this helps?!

But of course before doing the ABC's, ensure that you are in the clear. Meaning there are no hazards close to you or the patient.

The best first aid procedure is the one adapted to the emergency you're facing.

Yet, even the most perfect emergency procedure is nothing if no emergency service has been alerted.

Always remember:

PROTECT yourself and the others.

ALERT the appropriate emergency service.

RESCUE without taking any risk.

one useful way of knowing which steps to take is by DR. ABC

D = Danger - scene safety issues that may endanger you, your partner or casualty further

R= response - do you need further back up (now the time to call 911 or 999 or national emergency phone number)

A= Airway- is the airway open and efficient

B= Breathing - is the casualty breathing( is it sufficient)

C = Circulation - does the casualty have a pulse (is it sufficient)

you can not proceed unless each stage is managed (ie you can not treat a casualty with breathing difficulty if the airway is blocked/obstructed
