Euthanasia: Killing the hopelessly sick for reasons of mercy.
Passive: Letting them die.
Active: Causing their death.
Voluntary: Causing their death at their request. = Assisted suicide.
Involuntary: Causing their death against their wishes or interests.
Definition: The act of a physician or other third party ending a patient's life in response to severe pain and suffering. Voluntary Euthanasia refers to the action taken by the physician and the patient, who both agree (with informed consent) to end the patient's life. Involuntary Euthanasia refers to a third party taking a patient's life without the informed consent of the patient. This is commonly practiced in veterinary medicine when animals are "put down" or "put to sleep." In modern medicine, it could conceivably be applied to the act of taking a terminally ill, suffering patient's life who has lost all mental capacity to make his/her own decisions.
Also Known As: physician-assisted death, physician-assisted suicide, mercy killing
Indirect-Providing treatment (usually to reduce pain) that has the foreseeable side effect of causing the patient to die sooner. The patient dies sooner as a side effect of giving a medical treatment given to relieve pain or improve end-of-life symptoms. Indirect or passive euthanasia are not prohibited in most countries, while direct or active euthanasia is prohibited; these are considered by some to be incorrect terms because they are not really types of euthanasia.
Passive-Involves withdrawing or withholding life-prolonging medical treatment with the intention to hasten death in the patient's interests because of their expected negative quality of life. Distinguishing Passive from ActiveEuthanasia Passive euthanasia is letting someone die.Active euthanasia is doing something that kills them. This distinction between active and passive euthanasia is thought to be crucial for medical ethics. The idea is that it is permissible, at least in some cases, to withhold treatment and allow a patient to die, but it is never permissible to take any direct action designed to kill the patient. Non-Voluntary- This is where the person is unable to ask for euthanasia (perhaps they are unconscious or otherwise unable to communicate), or to make a meaningful choice between living and dying and an appropriate person takes the decision on their behalf, perhaps in accordance with their living will, or previously expressed wishes. Situations in which the person cannot make a decision or cannot make their wishes known, includes cases where:
There are two man types of euthanasia: direct and indirect. There are three types of direct euthanasia which are voluntary, involuntary, and non-voluntary. Indirect would be someone killing his or herself by giving a doctor the permission to end their life when they are too sick to go on. This is legal in some states but illegal in most. Direct is when the nurse or doctor does the killing by injection of medication or some other way without the patient telling them to. Voluntary is when there is full knowledge that the patient wants to die but is incapable of doing so on their own. Involuntary is when does not want to die but the caregiver does it anyway. Non-voluntary is when it is unknown whether or not the patient wants to be euthanized but the caregiver goes ahead with it.
Unfortunately too many kinds.
There are two types of euthanaisa.

Euthanasia (from the Greek eu = good + thanatos = death) refers to the practice of ending a life in a painless manner. Many different forms of euthanasia can be distinguished, including animal euthanasia and human euthanasia, and within the latter, voluntary and involuntary euthanasia. Voluntary euthanasia and physician-assisted suicide have been the focus of great controversy in recent years.
there is no such arrangement possible. Non voluntary euthanasia is execution.
No it's not. In fact, Netherlands is the first country which legalized euthanasia. There are very strict rules for euthanasia. And sometimes it's considered a crime. Euthanasia is only legal when someone has to suffer forever and many doctors agree with it. So it's hard to get it in the Netherlands.
No, euthanasia is illegal in Greece.
Euthanasia is illegal in Sweden.
Euthanasia means a gentle and easy death. There are 4 types of euthanasia: Assisted suicide- eg. Giving someone the drugs or gun to kill themselves but not actually killing the person yourself. Voluntary euthanasia- Helping kill someone who has asked you to kill them, it is only voluntary if you actually kill them, if they kill themselves it is assisted suicide. Non voluntary euthanasia- Where you kill the person when they haven't asked you to but you think it is right. eg. if the person is in a coma and might never wake up and the parent kill them. Passive euthanasia- where you stop giving the person treatment or food and water. Only if they have asked you to.
non active euthanasia is the same as assisted suiside :)active euthanasia is just plain old suiside :)
